>>>>>>Viewtiful Joe V2 Tips and Tricks by SDo0m<<<<<<<<

Stats:

Character Over - Captain Falcon
Size - 4/10 Small, thanks to the awesomeness of BeyondYou's great vertex
Running Speed - 3/10 Rather pitiful running speed. Not much more than King Dedede and Zelda
Air Speed - 9/10 Super fast in the air. Up there with the likes of Jigglypuff and even Yoshi.
Combo Speed - 7/10 Generally nice combo potential thanks to a load of useful moves
Priority - 6/10 Pretty good. Much much better than Falcon's (particularly on moves like Red Hot Kick)
Jump Height - 8/10 Hefty jumps. He can definitely gain some impressive vertical height. Coupled with his great
air speed, he's a king of the sky.
Power - 5/10 He has a couple of strong killing moves, but most of his attacks are fairly standard.
Weight - 88 (Middleweight/Lightweight)

Summary/Playstyle:

The main thing about Joe is that he is typically a rush-down character (reflecting his playstyle in MvC3 and TvC). He
has pretty poor range due to the fact that (unlike other small characters) his body parts don't scale up when attacking.
To compensate for this, he is excellent at approaching his foes and has a variety of ways to do so. He plays best in his
opponents face and when he gets up close and personal. Furthermore, his small size means that he's a relatively
difficult target to hit. His approach largely lies in his superior air speed and mobility and his Red Hot Kick, but he also
has a few ways to approach on the ground too like his dash attack and D Tilt. However, if he's feeling desperate,
clever use of the Shocking Pink bombs and the Voomerang can help keep foes at bay.

So remember, build up damage with some of your faster moves like the N Air, Tilts, Dash Attack and AAA combo, then
either land the powerful kill with the F Smash, D Smash or B Air, or cleverly gimp your opponents with the F Air or
U Air. Good luck, and have fun!

Tips:

- Joe's ground speed is rather pathetic, however he makes up for it with amazing air mobility. Short hopping (quickly
tap the jump button) is definitely the fastest way to get around.

- Along with Joe's aerial speed, his air game is strong. His N Air in particular comes out fast and has a wide reach. It's
useful for setting up basic combos

- The Neutral B (Shocking Pink) can be held for longer to make it go further. However, hold it for too long and it will
explode in your face. So be careful =P

- The Up B (Groovy Upper) can be done twice before going into a fall (the second press requires a bit of timing though.
It can also be angled back and forward slightly. Think of it somewhat like a cross between Pikachu's and Fox's Up Bs.
This allows for very powerful and rather unpredictable recovery that can be quite difficult to gimp.

- Joe has a very impressive DACUS which can propel him a good half way across Final Destination. To do it, dash then
quickly release forward and press C Stick (Down) then quickly release that and press Z and Up on the control pad (it
takes some practice).

- Joe's Down B Ground (Viewtiful God Hand) is a very tricky to land move, but it is rewarding. Land it (even on shielding
opponent) and time is frozen for everyone, meaning Joe can easily unleash a barrage of attacks on them. Try predicting
your opponent near an edge and using it there.

- Joe's Down B Air (Air Joe) can be looped by repeatedly mashing B. It's quite useful for gimping some recoveries (such
as Pit's).

- Joe's Final Smash is a tricky one to use. It requires timing and good positioning otherwise even if the fist connects,
the attacks themselves may still whiff. However, if you do land the entire string, it's an instant kill =)

Hope this helps to guide you on the path to getting good as Joe.
